The Public Information Office was created in June 1998 to foster an excellent working relationship between the police department and the media.  Lieutenant William Krause, who has been in the position of Public Information Officer since May of 2005, acts as the department's liaison with various news organizations.  He is responsible for keeping the media informed concerning criminal arrests, traffic accidents involving death or serious injury, and noteworthy incidents occurring in the township.

In addition, to his duties as Public Information Officer, Lt. Krause handles all Internal Affairs Investigations within the East Brunswick Police Department, as well as special projects out of the Office of Director of Public Safety.  In addition to his regular duties outlined above, Lt. Krause serves as a Crisis/Hostage Negotiator within the East Brunswick SWAT Team.
