Milltown Road

A two car head on collision on Milltown Road sent four people to an area hospital with injuries. A 1995 Ford wagon was being driven eastbound on Milltown Road by 62 year old Ghulam Mehboob, of South River. At the same time, a 1998 Oldsmobile was driving westbound on Milltown Road, being operated by 24 year old Joseph Nemes, of North Brunswick. The vehicle being operated by Nemes crossed the solid yellow lane marking line into the oncoming lane while making a left turn onto Jensen Street. Both vehicles collided head on. Mr. Mehboob and a 50 year old passenger were transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. Mr. Nemes and his 23 year old passenger needed to be extricated from their vehicle by the East Brunswick Independent Fire Company. They were also transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. Although the extent of injuries is unknown at the time of this report, none are believed to be life threatening. Mr. Nemes was issued summonses for careless driving, failure to maintain lane, and failure to wear a seatbelt.
